Music Theatre Kapsäkki is located at Hämeentie 68 in Helsinki and our programme consists of concerts, club nights and musical theatre for viewers of all ages. As music is an international language, a significant part of our shows can be enjoyed without any understanding of the Finnish language.

History

Music Theatre Kapsäkki was founded in 2000 as a cooperative theatre for artists. The aim of the theatre is to provide musical theatre, concerts and other forms of performing arts with a modern twist and a bold voice for children and adults alike. Since 2009, Kapsäkki has been located in Vallila, Helsinki.

Each year Music Theatre Kapsäkki has 5-10 premiers decided by the artists of our cooperative, but we also act as a platform for many other visiting groups and artists. Kapsäkki employs over a hundred freelance artists every year and is therefore a major employer in the industry.

Restaurant

Kapsäkki is more than a theatre. Alongside the 200-seat theatre there is a restaurant Bistro K. Besides just great food and drinks you can also enjoy club nights, improv shows, concerts and a lot more at our restaurant. For more information about the restaurant, please call +358 40 594 6680.

#wespeakgay

At Kapsäkki, we support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community wholeheartedly. We have an annual “Kapsäkki goes pride” event every June with all kinds of colourful rainbow events. The first day gay marriage was legalised in Finland, nine gay weddings were held at our venue in one huge ceremony. We welcome everyone at Kapsäkki regardless of their sexuality, ethnicity, religion or background.
